Bird count along the Bosque River Trail August 28, 2026. A lone Mississippi Kite

Weather - clear, clouds to the south, no wind, temp ~ 80 degrees at 7:15am. Supposed to reach 99 degrees today.

Bird count - types moderate to low - bird numbers low

Mississippi Kite - Most Mississippi Kites seem to have migrated south. But, I saw a lone Mississippi Kite circling high in th sky over the park.

Tufted Titmouse - Three Tufted Titmouse were having a fracas in the trees near Puddle 1.

Yellow Warblers - I saw two definite Yellow Warblers today. They were flitting around a Chinaberry Tree across from the bench where I drink coffee I saw a third bright yellow bird fly into a tree south of the last baseball field. I am pretty sure it was another yellow Warbler.

Puddles - Puddle 1 just small black catfish - Puddle 2 - a Great Blue Heron was standing in the middle - Puddle 3 - almost gone - Puddle 4 - a school of small black fish, all the fish moved roughly together, not like the catfish in Puddle 1 which are uniformly spread out.
