Western Kingbird

This is one of five Kingbirds I saw together near the baseball fields. Four of the Kingbirds were Western Kingbirds. These birds are common along the BRT in the middle to late summer. These birds have a light gray head, a dark gray back, a white neck, and a yellow belly.

Eastern Kingbird

One of the Kingbirds was different from the other four. It was solid black on top and had a pure white belly. This is an Eastern Kingbird, and is not very common along the BRT. All five Kingbirds acted as a group.
