A Tiny Frog

I don’t often see frogs along the BRT. This little frog is no bigger than the fingernail on your thumb. The gray thing it is sitting on is a pipe railing. I don’t think the frog is really green. I think the green color is algae that has grown on the back of the frog. Many turtles in the Bosque River have a green growth on their shells.

Bullfrog in the Bosque River

Unlike the tiny frog, this guy was big enough to see from across the river and up on a ten-foot bank above the river. I don’t know if Bullfrog is the official name of this type of frog, but that’s what we called them when I was growing up.
