Otter update July 9, 2026

I sent the otter pictures to a biologist friend of mine. He showed them to a number of colleagues. My friend said most of the people he showed the pictures to said the animal in the pictures was an otter. My friend said there had been a number of otter sightings recently in the area. So, I probably did spot an otter in the Bosque River in Stephenville Texas. However, one person my friend showed the picture to thought it was a beaver. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t a beaver. I watched it swim around and dive for a few minutes, and I never saw the animals back or tail. I’ve seen beavers swim and you can usually see the back and tail as it swims.
