Bird count along the Bosque River Trail July 6, 2026

Weather - Mostly overcast, some clear patches, no wind, temp ~75 degrees at 7:00 am, humid, river stagnant.

Event 1 Hummingbirds - I don’t often see Hummingbirds along the trail. When I see one its usually in the wildflower garden. Today I saw two different Hummingbirds in the forest along the trail. One was high up in a tall tree sitting on a branch, the other Hummingbird was flying around low branches on a tree. It makes me wonder how abundant Hummingbirds are.

Event 2 I saw four Black Belly Whistling Ducks flying in a line over the City Park.

Event 3 The Summer Bunting was back at the top of the tall tree in the hayfield
