Bird count along the Bosque River Trail September 8, 2026. Where are all the Grackles ?

Weather - mostly clear, some small puffy clouds, no wind, temp ~ 75 degrees at 7:15 am.

Bird count - types moderate, numbers moderate

Belted Kingfisher - very accurate, flying around the park, chittering all the way

White Tailed Deer - saw 9 deer today, three does and 6 fawns. No repeats. Saw a doe and two fawns in the dry riverbed near puddle 1

Grackle - curiously I only saw one grackle today.

Nutria - there is a large nutria living in the river just north of the footbridge
